Dexian, a global leader in staffing, IT, and workforce solutions, has inducted the first batch of students from Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) for training. This follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dexian and CUTN in August 2023. The MoU aims to develop tech-savvy talent that meets industry demands.

The partnership has led to the establishment of an "Excellence Center" at CUTN. This centre focuses on upskilling and reskilling students. Dexian's involvement includes developing the curriculum, offering mentorship, and providing real-world project experience. The program aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for their careers.
Training Program Details
A rigorous selection process by CUTN and Dexian resulted in the choice of 18 postgraduate students from the Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and Economics departments. These students will undergo an 18-month training program with a stipend that combines academic learning with practical industry experience. Upon successful completion, they will be offered employment opportunities at Dexian. However, the company emphasizes that there is no contractual obligation for students to join Dexian post-training, allowing for maximum flexibility in their career paths.
Prof Natarajan Gopalan, Head of the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health and director of the Excellence Centre, will supervise these selected students during their training period at Dexian.
Inaugural Batch Commences
Prof. M. Krishnan, Vice Chancellor of Central University of Tamil Nadu, who is completing his third year in office, met with the first batch of trainees today. He extended his appreciation to the students for their selection and urged them to contribute to society.
This initiative represents a significant step towards aligning academic programs with industry needs. By providing hands-on experience and mentorship from industry experts, it ensures that graduates are not only academically proficient but also ready to tackle real-world challenges.
The collaboration between CUTN and Dexian highlights the importance of partnerships between educational institutions and industry leaders. Such collaborations are crucial for creating a workforce that is both skilled and adaptable to changing market demands.
The Excellence Center at CUTN stands as a testament to this forward-thinking approach. It serves as a model for other universities looking to enhance their curriculum through industry partnerships.
This initiative is expected to benefit not just the selected students but also future batches who will have access to improved resources and training methodologies developed through this collaboration.
Overall, this partnership marks a promising development in higher education and workforce readiness. It sets a precedent for how educational institutions can work closely with industries to produce graduates who are well-equipped for professional success.
