What Is Psychometric Test In SBI PO Exam? How To Prepare For This Section?

SBI PO Notification 2022: SBI has released the notification for 1600+ Probationary Officer Posts. This year the exam pattern has been changed. The tentative date for Phase-III of SBI PO Exam i.e. Psychometric Test will be in February / March 2023.

What Is Psychometric Test In SBI PO Exam?

As per the official notification, "The Bank may conduct Psychometric test for personality profiling, of those candidates who will be shortlisted for Phase-III. Finding of the test may be placed before the Interview panel for having a through perspective on the candidates."
This is the first time that Psychometric test has been introduced in this exam.

What Is Psychometric Test?

Psychometric test is basically a way of assessing the candidates designed to measure cognitive ability, personality, work behaviour which indicates the potential of a candidate to excel in a specific post assigned to them. Psychometric testing takes various forms (It may be numerical, mechanical, logical or verbal reasoning).

Why Is Psychomeytric Test There In SBI PO?

A psychometric test is a scientific & standard method that plays significant role in educational or professional settings. It usually offers an unbiased evaluation of a candidate of a broad range of parameters, such as logical reasoning, job-specific aptitude, position-specific qualities, type of personality, stress handling and much more.

Psychometric test enables authorities to measure an individual's abilities to process information, solve problems, make decisions while assessing their behavioral aspects such as evaluation reveals essential results that recruiters use to make rational decisions about candidates capability and their behaviour.

Psychometric Test could be of these types: Personality questionnaire, Aptitude (or ability) test, Situational judgement test, Diagrammatic reasoning, Numerical reasoning, Critical thinking test, Verbal reasoning test etc.

Options: Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, disagree, Strongly Disagree
Here you need to have a balanced approach. Avoid going in extremes. However, with the exam perspective avoid going with emotions rather keep the position (that you are applying for) in mind.
