The Indian Railways, through RRC Western Railway, has called for online applications from eligible and interested candidates for filling 1,273 Apprentice vacancies in multiple trades comprising Diesel Mechanic, Electrician, Welder (G&E), Machinist, Fitter, Turner, Wireman, Mason, Carpenter, Painter (General), Gardener, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Pump Operator-cum-Mechanic, Horticulture Assistant, Electronic Mechanic, Information & Communication Technician, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA), Stenographer, HouseKeeper, Health Sanitary Inspector, etc. through direct recruitment to be posted in various departments. The registration-cum-application process towards the same starts from January 15, 2020 and closes on February 14, 2020 by 11:59 pm.

Age Criteria And Fees
Candidates interested in applying for Apprentices post through Western Railway Recruitment must have attained 15 years of age as on January 1, 2020 and not have exceeded 24 years of age (Gen/UR), 27 years (OBC) and 29 years (SC/ST) respectively as specified in the notification.
Candidates must pay a prescribed amount of Rs. 100 (Gen/OBC) as application processing fee through online (debit card/credit card/internet banking) mode only. SC/ST/PWD/Women applicants, however, are exempted from paying the application fee.

Educational Criteria And Eligibility
Candidates applying for Apprentices post through Western Railway Recruitment must have passed Class 10/Matriculation in 10+2 examination system with minimum 50% marks (aggregate) with an ITI certificate in relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT recognised Board/Institute as specified in the notification.
Selection And Pay Scale
The selection of candidates to Apprentices post through Western Railway Recruitment will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in their Matriculation as well as ITI examination in the concerned trade.
Candidates selected as Apprentices through Western Railway Recruitment will be paid a monthly stipend as per the Apprenticeship norms.
