West Bengal Public Service Commission, WBPSC has released the recruitment drive for the SSO and Lab Assistant post. Candidates who wish to apply for the West Bengal SSO examination can check out the notification. The commission will commence the WBPSC SSO application form filling on October 19, 2022.

WBPSC SSO Eligibility Criteria

The candidates going to write the WBPSC SSO examination can check out the prescribed eligibility for all the profiles in the section below.

Job Profile Age Limit Educational Qualification
SSO in Narcotics Not more than 36 years A Second class Master's Degree in Chemistry from a recognized University or equivalent
Five years' experience of analytical methods and research
Scientific Assistant in Narcotics Not more than 39 years A Degree in Science having Chemistry as one of the subjects from a recognized University or equivalent
Two years' experience in laboratory work
Lab Assistant in Narcotics Not more than 40 years Candidates should have a degree in Science.

WBPSC SSO Selection Process

The selection of the candidates in the WBPSC SSO examination is going to be based on the basis of the performance in the screening test. The marks secured in the screening test will be used to prepare the final merit list. The minimum qualifying mark required to clear the West Bengal SSO exam is 40% for the unreserved category. Also, the same is 35% for the SC category and 30% for the ST category.
