WBPSC Recruitment 2019: Apply Online For 161 Asst. Professors Post, Earn Up To Rs. 39,100 A Month

The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has invited online applications from eligible and interested candidates for filling 161 vacancies to the post of Assistant Professors in multiple disciplines/subjects covering Bengali, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, Education, English, Geography, Geology, History, Law, Mathematics, Psychology, Sociology, Sanskrit, Music, Philosophy, etc, through direct recruitment to be appointed in the West Bengal Education Service under the Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal. Application process towards the same starts from November 29, 2019 onwards and closes on December 19, 2019.

Age Criteria And Fees

Candidates interested in applying for Assistant Professors post through WBPSC Recruitment 2019 must not have exceeded 40 years of age as on January 1, 2019 with relaxation (upper age limit) up to 5 years (SC/ST) and 3 years (OBC-NCL) respectively.

Candidates must remit a prescribed amount of Rs. 210 as application processing fee either through online (net-banking/credit/debit) mode or Challan mode at the Branches of UBI. SC/ST and PWD candidates of West Bengal alone are exempted from paying the applicaiton fee.

Educational Criteria And Eligibility

Desirous candidates applying for Assistant Professors post through WBPSC Recruitment 2019 must possess a Masters Degree/Post-Graduation (55% marks) in relevant discipline from a recognised University/Institute, and must have qualified in the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET/SET) or P.hD in the concerned subject as detailed in the advertisement.

Selection And Pay Scale

The selection of candidates for Assistant Professors post through WBPSC Recruitment 2019 will be done through a Preliminary Screening Test (P.S.T.) and Interview.

Candidates selected for Assistant Professors post through WBPSC Recruitment 2019 will be paid emolument in the scale of Rs.15, 600 to Rs. 39,100 per month with a grade pay Rs. 6,000.
