WBJEE 2026 Decentralised Counselling Begins Soon: Check Schedule

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) is set to begin the WBJEE 2026 Decentralised Counselling Admission Portal (DCAP) process for admission to undergraduate Engineering/Technology, Architecture and Pharmacy courses against residual and resultant vacant seats. The Board has published the operational summary and counselling schedule on its official website.

WBJEE 2026 Decentralised Counselling Begins Soon

The decentralised counselling process is intended to fill vacant seats remaining after the regular counselling process. Candidates are advised to carefully follow the official notification, schedule and portal instructions. In case of any discrepancy, the instructions issued by WBJEEB will prevail.

WBJEE 2026 DCAP Registration Fee

Candidates participating in DCAP 2026 have to pay a ₹250 one-time, non-refundable registration fee. The registration process includes profile creation, fee payment and selection of preferred courses and institutes.

A separate ₹2,000 Seat Acceptance Fee is payable only after a candidate receives an allocation and selects and locks the option. Candidates should therefore carefully check their allocation before proceeding with the seat acceptance payment.

WBJEE 2026 DCAP Choice-Filling Rules

Unlike conventional counselling systems, the DCAP process uses an unordered choice set. Candidates can add, remove or modify their choices during the active choice-selection window.

Candidates should make their choices carefully because Round 2 will use the same frozen choice set. Fresh choice filling will not be permitted during Round 2.

The allocation process will therefore depend on the choices submitted by candidates during the specified registration and choice-selection period.

What Happens After Seat Allocation?

Candidates who receive an allocation must complete the required steps within the prescribed deadline. This includes payment of the ₹2,000 Seat Acceptance Fee, generation of the Provisional Admission Receipt and physical verification at the allotted institute.

Candidates should carry the required original documents and applicable copies for verification. They should also complete admission or withdrawal confirmation at the institute within the specified dates.

Important Warning for Candidates

Candidates must be particularly careful about reporting requirements. A candidate who pays the Seat Acceptance Fee but fails to report to the allotted institute within the prescribed period will be immediately debarred from the remaining DCAP process as well as the entire counselling system.

However, any earlier valid admission held by the candidate, if applicable, will remain protected according to the counselling rules.

WBJEE 2026 DCAP: Key Points to Remember

Candidates participating in the decentralised counselling should remember the following:

  • Check the vacant seat information before selecting choices.
  • Pay the ₹250 registration fee within the registration window.
  • Complete profile creation and choice selection before the deadline.
  • Carefully review choices before the choice set is frozen.
