WBCHSE West Bengal HS Result 2026 Declared: 91.23% Students Pass Higher Secondary Exams

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has officially declared the West Bengal HS Result 2026 today, May 14. The Higher Secondary or Class 12 results were announced through a press conference held at 10:30 AM, while the online result link was activated for students at 11 AM.

Students who appeared for the WBCHSE Uchcha Madhyamik examinations can now check and download their marksheets online through the official portals using their roll number and registration details.

This year, the overall pass percentage in the West Bengal Class 12 board examinations stands at 91.23 per cent.

Apart from the official portals, the result is also available through DigiLocker and other authorised result platforms.

Overall Pass Percentage and Gender-wise Performance

According to the data released by WBCHSE, girls once again outperformed boys in the Higher Secondary examinations.

  • Female pass percentage: 91.79%
  • Male pass percentage: 89.71%

A total of 5.71 lakh students successfully cleared the WBCHSE Class 12 examinations this year.
Reports also indicate that more female students appeared for the examinations compared to male candidates.

District-wise Performance

Among all districts, Uttar Medinipur emerged as the top-performing district with a pass percentage of 94.14 per cent.

The board released district-wise performance details along with the merit list and overall result statistics during the official announcement.

The results impact students across major regions and districts of West Bengal including Kolkata, Uttar Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, Howrah, Hooghly, Darjeeling, Murshidabad, Malda, Nadia, North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas.

WBCHSE HS Topper List 2026

A total of 64 students secured places in the top 10 merit list this year, including 56 boys and 8 girls.
Adrito Pal from Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission secured the first rank in the state by scoring 496 out of 500 marks, recording an impressive 99.2 per cent.

Two candidates jointly secured the second rank, while five students shared the third position in the merit rankings.

New Feature Introduced in Marksheets

WBCHSE has introduced a new feature in the marksheets this year. Students' photographs will now appear on the marksheets for identification and verification purposes.

The board has also stated that candidates who wish to improve their scores next year through Semester 4 examinations may do so after surrendering their current marksheets.

Students can follow these steps to download their marksheets online:

Step 1: Visit the official website at wbchse.wb.gov.in or results.wb.gov.in
Step 2: Click on the Higher Secondary or HS Result 2026 link
Step 3: Enter the required login credentials such as roll number and registration number
Step 4: Submit the details to view the result
Step 5: Download and save the provisional marksheet for future reference

Important Advisory for Students

Students are advised to carefully verify all details mentioned on the online marksheet including name, subject-wise marks, total score and qualifying status.

Due to high traffic immediately after result declaration, some students may experience temporary delays while accessing the websites. In such cases,candidates can wait for some time and try again later.
