VTU offers exclusive placement process for Women Graduates

One of the top University in India, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum is offering exclusive / separate placement services to the women graduates.

More than 200 engineering colleges are affiliated to the VTU. The University has collaborated hands with multinational companies for the initiative.

VTU, Vice-Chancellor, H Maheshappa said that the university has finished the first round of discussions with the companies. After this, we will finalise the number of firms appearing for placements.

As per the VTU reports, private firms have been informed that women engineers are more committed to work, and their ability to learn on the job is high. Compared to girls, boys change jobs more frequently.

Reports states that, IBM may conduct the placement interviews in Bengaluru from February 6, 2015.

One of the VTU official said that, last year IBM had already conducted a similar interview at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru.

To help the students studying across the state, VTU has established a centralised placement cell, where students can take up an online test in VTUs website.
