Visa Inc offers jobs to 120 IIT students worth Rs 22 lakh pay package

For the first time, Visa Inc - World's largest payments network hopes are offering jobs to various 120 IIT students.

Visa offers a salary of $140,000 plus a relocation bonus for international roles and Rs 22 lakh for domestic hires. The company said that they would hire 100 to 120 candidates from 8 IITs, such as IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras.

In 2013, Samsung was the largest recruiters with 271 offers, Reliance Industries with 177 offers, Oracle with 135 offers and Flipkart with 118 offers.

"We are more than a card company. We will provide technology based roles and since we have just set shop in India; our work culture will be similar to start-ups. They (students to be hired this year) will be the first ones and will get lots of opportunities," said Nitin Chandel, senior vice president of Visa's Developer Platform based in India.

IT major Infosys has introduced the Visa to the IITs.

Placement process at IITs will begin from December 2014. Visa will fight with Google, Facebook, Cisco, Oracle, Samsung and Microsoft for the best candidates.

Apart from IIT, Google had offered a job to BITS, Pilani Goa campus students worth Rs 1.4 crore pay package.

Visa is looking for software engineers, data platform software engineers, information product engineers, networking engineers, data science engineers, infrastructure architects, systems engineers and network provisioning analysis said IIT Kanpur member.

Nitin said that they were planning to establish a technology centre in Bangalore, its first in India.
