This program aims to engage young learners in nation-building by challenging them to develop innovative, technology-driven solutions that align with India's vision of becoming a Viksit Bharat (Developed Nation) by 2047.

The Buildathon focuses on enhancing creative problem-solving, digital innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking among school students. Participants are encouraged to design applications, digital tools, and solutions addressing key societal issues such as education access, environmental sustainability, health and hygiene, women empowerment, and rural innovation.

Students can participate individually or in teams through their schools or directly via the official Buildathon 2025 portal available on the Ministry's website. The application process involves registering online, submitting an idea proposal, and, for shortlisted candidates, developing a working model or prototype. Each submission will be evaluated based on originality, feasibility, and its potential to impact communities.

The Ministry has categorized participation into different themes-Education & Skill Development, Environment & Climate Change, Digital Transformation, Social Welfare, and Governance. These categories allow students to align their innovations with real-world challenges faced by the country.

Once submissions are evaluated, selected projects will advance to regional and national rounds, where students will have the opportunity to present their work before expert panels. Winners will be awarded certificates, cash prizes, mentorship, and incubation support to help refine and implement their ideas on a larger scale.

The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 not only provides a platform for showcasing innovation but also acts as an early talent discovery program for India's future technologists, engineers, and entrepreneurs. The initiative aligns with other national programs like Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and Digital India, ensuring continuity in nurturing creativity and innovation at the school level.

Schools across India have been encouraged to actively promote participation and support students through workshops, hackathons, and idea-generation sessions. The Ministry emphasized that every innovative idea, no matter how small, can contribute meaningfully to India's growth story.

Through the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025, the government envisions empowering students to take charge of India's developmental journey and transform their creativity into impactful innovations that shape a better, sustainable, and technologically advanced future.
