Uttarakhand Govt To Distribute Free Tablets To Class 10, 12 Students

The Uttarakhand has decided to provide free tablets to students of Class 10 and 12. Vatsalya Yojana has also been started for children who lost parents in pandemic.

In the times of COVID-19 as online education has become the only option, the Uttarakhand government has decided to provide free tablets to students of Class 10 and 12, stated Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Dhami, who announced free tablets for students of class 10 and 12 stated, "Children are the future of our society. We started the Vatsalya Yojana to help children whose parents died due to the Covid pandemic. Till the age of 21, they will receive a monthly payment of Rs 3,000 under the scheme. We have now agreed to give free tablets to students in grades 10 and 12."

On Independence Day in Dehradun, Dhami made several announcements, including the formation of a high-level commission to address concerns regarding land regulations. He also mentioned that the Sunderlal Bahuguna Prakriti Sanrakshan Award, named after prominent environmentalist Sunderlal Bahuguna, would be granted for outstanding efforts in the field of environment and wildlife protection.

Dhami said his government has suggested that the Padma award be given to state folk singer Narendra Singh Negi.

When asked about the COVID-19 issue, the Uttarakhand chief minister stated, "Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the country has fought a successful struggle against COVID-19." In view of the potential of the third wave of coronavirus, he continued, "There are enough oxygen cylinders, ventilators, beds, and separate wards for children at hospitals in the state, including PHCs and CHCs (primary and community health centres)."

In his address, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister stated that the state is "doing well on growth indexes" and that there is reason to assume it will be among the most developed in the country in the future years.
