UPSC Website Hacked: 17 Year Old Boy Apprehended

The Delhi Police Special Cell has apprehended a 17-year old boy who hacked the UPSC official website on September 10. The homepage has been displayed with an image of a cartoon character Doraemon with the caption ''Doraemon!!!!!!! Pick up the Call.''

According to the sources, the teenager is pursuing a technical course from a central university in Delhi. The boy told that he learned hacking recently from the internet and tried to hack many government websites but successful with the UPSC website because it is more vulnerable.


The Union Public Service Commission, which is one the most important constitutional bodies, faced a bizarre incident early today. India's premier central recruitment agency's, UPSC, website was hacked and instead, a cartoon was displayed with Doraemon!!!!!!! Pick up the Call playing in background. The page also showed "I.M. STEWPEED" at the bottom.

Currently, the UPSC's site is under maintenance. This strange incident came into limelight when some of the UPSC's aspirants visited the website. Many aspirants took the screenshots of the page and shared the same on their social media pages.

According to UPSC, the website is managed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

Union Public Service Commission conducts a range of entrance examinations such as Civil Services, Indian Forest Service, National Defence Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy (NA), Combined Defence Services Examination, Combined Medical Services Examination, Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service Examination.
