Charusree Thiagarajan (24) grabbed 6th rank in the UPSC examination, at the all-India level. Hailing from Tamil Nadu, she is an alumna of Anna University.
Basically form Coimbatore district, she holds a graduate degree in engineering and used to work with Qualcomm.
Currently, she is undergoing her training to join the Indian Forest Service at Dehradun.
Her career is set to take another turn to the Indian Administrative Service as the Union Public Service Commission on Saturday recommended a list of 1,236 successful candidates for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and Central Services.
With a score at the personality test crucial for a good ranking in the highly competitive examination, sensible answers by such candidates have offered them the opportunity to join the IAS.
Having secured the highest rank among candidates from the State, Ms.Charusree is expected to join the Tamil Nadu cadre of IAS after completion of training.
This is her second attempt in the UPSC. In the first attempt she chose the IRS division and was undergoing training. However, she wanted to be an IAS officer.
In her second attempt recently, she succeeded to become an IAS officer, securing 6th rank at the all-India level.
Charusree says, "I would like bring a lot of changes in the education sector".
The proud father, Thiagarajan served for the agricultural department.
