The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is scheduled to administer the Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination 2024 on June 22 and 23. Candidates awaiting their admit cards can now download them from the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in. The availability of these hall tickets commenced on June 14, following the preliminary exam conducted earlier on February 18.

Examination Overview
The main objective of the examination is to fill 56 vacancies within the Geological Survey of India under the Ministry of Mines and the Central Ground Water Board under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources. The selection process consists of a preliminary exam, main exam, and a final stage involving document verification or interview.
Admit Card Download Process
To download the UPSC CGS Mains admit card, candidates should:
- Visit the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.
- Navigate to the homepage and select the notification for the e-admit card.
- Click on the download link and proceed to sign in.
- Review the details on the admit card, download it, and print a copy for future reference.
Exam Day Requirements
On the day of the exam, candidates must:
- Carry a physical copy of their e-Admit Card to the exam centre.
- Present a photo ID card with the number specified on the e-admit card.
- If the photograph on the e-Admit Card is unclear, blurred, or missing, candidates should bring two identical photographs.
- Ensure arrival at the exam centre at least 30 minutes before each session begins (8:30 am for the morning session and 2:00 pm for the afternoon session).
- Use a Black Ball Point Pen for filling out the attendance list.
Prohibited Items
Candidates are prohibited from bringing:
- Smart watches or watches with special features.
- Mobile phones, pagers, electronic devices, storage media (like pen drives), cameras, Bluetooth devices, or any communication-capable accessories into the exam hall.
- Valuables, expensive items, or bags inside the examination venue.
