UPSC Releases Detailed Application Forms For IFS Main 2016 Exam

The Union Public Service Commission has released official notification of the detailed application form (DAF) for Indian Forest Service Main Examinations. Candidates who have been declared successful in the IFS Prelims exam 2016 can send the required DAT before October 6, 2016.

 

The examination for IFS Mains has been scheduled to be held on November 12, 2016.

Candidates are required to read the instructions provided by the UPSC before sending their DAF before October 6, 2016. Candidates are also hereby notified that the time-table of the examination will be made available with the e-admit cards.

The main examination for the prestigious Indian Forest Service will be held at the following centres as reported by the UPSC: Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Port Blair and Shimla.

UPSC Releases DAF For IFS Main 2016

Candidates who are applying for the IFS mains except for female/SC/ST/PH candidates are required to pay application fee of Rs.200.

Steps to access DAF: IFS Main 2016

  • Candidates have to log on to the official website of the UPSC.
  • Click on the live link 'DAF" Indian Forest Service (Main) Exam 2016
  • Now click on the link appearing on the new page.
  • Candidates will now be required to log in using their login id and password
  • On successful submission of the above, candidates will be able to access their detailed application form.

IFS services are placed under various State cadres and joint cadres though they have the mandate to serve both under the State and Central Governments. The main mandate of IFS service is the implementation of the National Forest Policy which aims to ensure environmental stability and maintenance of ecological balance. An IFS officer is largely independent of district administration and exercises administrative, judicial and financial powers in their own domain. All top positions in state forest department are held by IFS officers.
