UPSC Interview Schedule 2025 Released: Complete Details for Civil Services Personality Test
The Commission has announced a detailed day-wise schedule for candidates who qualified the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2025. This is one of the most crucial stages of the examination, carrying 275 marks, and plays a decisive role in final merit list preparation.
A total of 649 candidates have been included in the first batch of the interview list. Candidates scheduled in the first batch must report at 9:00 AM for the forenoon session and at 1:00 PM for the afternoon session. The Commission has informed that the e-summon letters for the Personality Test will be available for download shortly on the official website. Candidates must log in using their registered credentials to access the summons and other important instructions. The e-summon will include the exact interview date, timing, roll number, required documents, and general guidelines for the PT.
The UPSC Personality Test is conducted at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi, where candidates are assessed not for academic knowledge alone but for their personality traits, integrity, communication skills, leadership qualities, decision-making ability, presence of mind, and suitability for administrative responsibilities. The Board evaluates the candidate's mental alertness, critical thinking, moral integrity, social awareness, and logical reasoning. Hence, candidates must prepare beyond books and focus on a holistic understanding of current affairs, socio-economic issues, cultural awareness, and personal background questions.
Candidates are advised to download their e-summon letters as soon as they are released and carefully read all instructions regarding the documents required for verification. Important documents include the original educational certificates, mark sheets, category certificates (if applicable), Age proof, DAF (Detailed Application Form) printout, and any other documents specified by UPSC. Candidates must carry both originals and self-attested photocopies of all necessary documents.
UPSC has strictly notified that no request for changing the interview date or session will be entertained except under extremely rare, justified circumstances. Candidates should also make travel and accommodation arrangements well in advance, especially those coming from outside Delhi. It is advisable to arrive at least a day before the interview date to avoid delays caused by weather or transportation issues.
To perform well in the Personality Test, candidates must maintain confidence, clarity of thought, honesty, and balanced viewpoints. Staying updated with national and international events, understanding one's Detailed Application Form thoroughly, and practicing mock interviews can significantly boost performance. Candidates should also prepare for questions on hobbies, work experience, academic background, optional subjects, and recent developments related to governance and public administration. Wearing formal attire, maintaining polite communication, and showcasing analytical reasoning will help create a strong impression on the Board.
