The UPSC IES and ISS examinations are conducted annually to recruit qualified candidates for economic and statistical posts under various ministries and departments of the Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC IES & ISS 2026

For Indian Economic Service (IES):

Candidates must have obtained a Postgraduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a recognized university.

For Indian Statistical Service (ISS):

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subjects or a Master's Degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics.

Applicants must also meet the prescribed age criteria and other conditions mentioned in the official notification.
