The Union Public Service Commission, mostly abbreviated as UPSC is all geraed up to conduct the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) Prelims 2024 on June 16, 2024. Earlier, according to the UPSC Calender, the UPSC CSE Prelims Examination was supposed to be held on May 26, 2024. Due to the election going on across the nation, the amendment of the exam date has been made.

UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 Marking Scheme:
To advance to the UPSC Mains exam, candidates require a minimum score on this qualifying exam. Below is a summary of the marking scheme:
• Total Marks: 400 (2 papers, 200 marks each)
• Paper 1 (General Studies): 200 marks
• Each question carries 2 marks
• Paper 2 (CSAT - General Ability Test): 200 marks (Qualifying Paper)
UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 Exam Pattern:
The Civil Services Examination is structured into two stages, namely; the Written Examination and Interviews (personality tests) of the Mains Round, and the Objective-type questions of the Preliminary Examination, which functions as a screening test for the Mains round.
UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible to appear for the UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 exam, applicants need to fulfill the criteria as follows:
- Nationality: Indian
- Age Limit: 21 years to 32 years (with age relaxation applicable for reserved category candidates)
- Qualification: Graduation
