Thousands of candidates sit for Day 3 of the Civil Services Examination today. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts two key General Studies papers on Sunday. Candidates must report on time to navigate mandatory security checks smoothly. Knowing exam hall rules helps prevent unnecessary disqualification during these critical papers.
The forenoon session for GS-III runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The afternoon session for GS-IV takes place between 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm. Candidates must carry a printed e-admit card and an original photo identity card. Only black ballpoint pens are allowed for writing answers inside the exam hall. Invigilators strictly prohibit all wristwatches, mobile phones, and electronic gadgets near desks.

Candidates receive a designated Question Cum Answer (QCA) booklet for writing their responses. You must write answers strictly within the assigned margins for each question. Never write your name, roll number, or religious symbols inside answer sheets. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) using scribes must bring approved eligibility certificates. Scribes must carry valid identity documents for verification before entering exam rooms.
Exam centre gates close strictly thirty minutes before each session begins. Aspirants should arrive early to clear frisking and biometric verification smoothly. Invigilators direct candidates to complete attendance entries right after taking their seats. Use only the designated blank pages at the end for rough work. Remember to cross out rough work cleanly before handing over your booklet.
Today marks the completion of all four core General Studies papers. Candidates get a short break before writing compulsory language papers on August 29. Optional Paper I and Optional Paper II will take place on August 30. Review official commission advisories to remain fully prepared for the final papers.
