UPSC CSE & IFS 2026: Important Dates
As per the official schedule, the UPSC CSE 2026 Preliminary Examination will be conducted on May 24, 2026, across multiple examination centres nationwide. Candidates who qualify the prelims will be eligible to appear for the UPSC CSE Main Examination, which is scheduled to begin on August 21, 2026.
The Indian Forest Service (IFS) Preliminary Examination 2026 will also be conducted through the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, and successful candidates will proceed to the IFS Mains examination later in the year.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Relaxation: Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and other eligible categories as per government norms.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Final-year students are also eligible to apply, subject to conditions.
