The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has initiated the application process for the 2024 Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (CSE Pre). In addition to the CSE prelims application form, UPSC has provided this year's comprehensive information bulletin, syllabus, and exam pattern on upsc.gov.in.

Unlike previous years, where only a passport-sized photograph in a specific size was required, UPSC has now specified several instructions for uploading photographs in the UPSC CSE application form for 2024. Prospective candidates interested in applying for UPSC CSE 2024 must ensure they carefully follow these new guidelines for photo uploads when completing the form.
UPSC has implemented some alterations in the process of uploading candidate photos this year, which require attention. Review the modifications below:
(I) Candidates must verify that the uploaded photograph is not older than 10 days from the commencement of the online application process.
(II) Candidates should confirm that the applicant's name and the date the photograph was taken are clearly visible on the photograph.
(III) The candidate's face should occupy 3/4th of the space in the selected photograph for upload.
(IV) Candidates must ensure consistency between their appearance and the photograph at each stage of the Examination Process (i.e., Preliminary, Main, Interview/Personality Test).
The deadline for candidates to submit their online applications is March 5, 2024.
