The dates for the Combined Geo Scientist and Geologist Exam 2017 has been released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Candidates can view the timetable below. The exam is scheduled on May 12, 13 and 14 over two slots. Also, registration for the exams are going on and tomorrow is the last date to apply.

Candidates must posses a Master's degree in any one of the following fields

- petroleum exploration
- geochemistry
- geological technology
- geophysical technology
Geophysicists Group 'A':
Candidates must posses a MSc in any one of the following fields:
- physics
- applied physics
- MSc (geophysics)
- integrated MSc (exploration geophysics)
- MSc (applied geophysics)
- MSc (marine geophysics)
- MSc (technology) (applied geophysics)
Chemists Gr 'A':
Candidates must possess MSc in any one of the following fields:
- chemistry
- applied chemistry
- analytical chemistry from a university incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature or other educational Institutes established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed universities
Age Criteria:
Geologist and Geophysicist and Chemist (Group 'A') post
- The upper age limit of the candidate is 32 years and the minimum is 21 years
Junior Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) (Group A) in Central Ground water Board, Ministry of Water Resources
- The upper age limit of the candidate is 35 years and the minimum 21 years
