The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is all set to declare the Civil Services preliminary results on July 15, 2018. Candidates who appeared for the examination can visit the official website of UPSC to check their results.

The Civil Services preliminary examination 2018 was held on June 3 across the country at various test centres. According to the official sources, around 3 lakh candidates appeared for the preliminary examination. Candidates who qualify in the preliminary examination are now eligible to appear for the main examination.

How To Check UPSC Civil Services Preliminary 2018 Results?

  • Visit the UPSC official website. (upsc.gov.in)
  • Click on Civil Services Exam (CSE) Preliminary Result 2018.
  • Fill all the mandatory fields including the roll number.
  • Click on Submit to access the results.
  • Take a printout of the results for further reference.

Candidates who are selected for the main examination can start preparing for further rounds. Annually, UPSC will conduct the Civil Services to recruit candidates for various positions that include All India Services (AIS) such as IAS and IPS.

The selection process of the Civil Services consists of three phases, namely, preliminary, main examination and an interview. The preliminary examination will consist of objective-type questions. However, the main examination's questions will be descriptive. Only candidates who have qualified in the main examination and have achieved the cut-off will be called for an interview.

The main examination consists of nine papers that include four general studies papers, two optional subject papers, two qualifying papers and one essay paper. The main exam will be conducted for 1750 marks out of a grand total of 2025 marks.
