The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the results for the civil services preliminary examination 2016. The results have been released on the official website of the commission. The results were declared yesterday, the examination for the same was held on August 7, 2016.
The preliminary examination is a gateway for candidates aspiring for civil services. Those candidates who have cleared this examination can take up the UPSC Civil Services Main Examination that will be held in December 2016.
UPSC conducts these examinations for recruitment of candidates into administrative posts in ll-India services and central civil services, including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and others. Candidates who clear this examination will be writing the main exam. Candidates who clear the main exam will be called for the interview round. The final selection of candidates into the civil services will be made on the basis of the marks obtained in the main exam and the interview. NOTE: Candidates who have been declared successful will have to first register themselves on the relevant page of the UPSC before filling up the online detailed examination form.
Successful candidates will have fill in the detailed application form which will be made available on the commission's website from October 7, 2016 to October 20, 2016.
Candidates are also informed that marks, cut-off marks and answer keys of screening test will be uploaded on the Commission website only after the declaration of final result of Civil Services Examination, 2016, the Commission said.
