UPSC Civil Services Prelims Admit Card 2024 Released, Know Steps to Download

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the admit card for the Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2024. Candidates can now download their hall tickets from the UPSC's official website, upsc.gov.in. This year, the commission has announced a total of 1,056 vacancies for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) and 150 for the Indian Forest Service (IFoS).

Steps to Download the Admit Card

Candidates can follow these steps to download their admit card:

  • Visit the official website, upsc.gov.in.
  • Click on the notification for the UPSC CSE prelims 2024 admit card.
  • Enter the required details such as registration ID and date of birth.
  • Submit the information.
  • Download the admit card.
  • Print a copy for future reference.

Exam Details and Important Instructions

The admit card contains vital information including the exam centre, date and time of the exam, candidate's name, year of examination, registration ID, roll number, postal address, important instructions, photograph, and signature. The preliminary exam is scheduled to be held on June 16.

Number of Attempts and Eligibility Criteria

Eligible candidates are allowed to attempt the UPSC exam up to six times. The selection process comprises three stages:

  • Prelims: Objective type examination.
  • Mains: Descriptive type examination.
  • Personality Test: Interview round.

Candidates who qualify in the prelims will be eligible to appear for the UPSC IAS Main examination, which is descriptive in nature, followed by a personality test (interview).

Special Provisions for Certain Categories

Candidates from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are allowed up to nine attempts. Additional relaxations in the number of attempts are provided for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. To be eligible, candidates must be aged between 21 and 32 years as of August 1, 2024.

Candidates are advised to carefully read all the instructions on the admit card and carry the necessary documents to the exam centre. It is crucial to ensure all personal details on the admit card are correct to avoid any issues on the day of the examination.
