Today, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the UPSC Civil Services answer key for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2023. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now access the answer key on the official UPSC website - upsc.gov.in.

The answer keys are provided in PDF format on the official website. One question has been omitted by the UPSC. The UPSC CSE 2023 prelims were conducted on May 28. A total of 14,624 candidates were declared qualified for the prelims exam. Qualified candidates subsequently appeared for the UPSC CSE Mains 2023 exam. Recently, the commission announced the final result of UPSC CSE 2023, recommending a total of 1,016 candidates for appointment.

Steps to download the UPSC CSE 2023 answer key

• Visit the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in.
• Click on the Examination tab.
• Locate and click on the answer key link next to "Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2023".
• The UPSC CSE Answer Key PDF will appear on the screen.
• Download the PDFs for future reference.

Candidates were selected based on the UPSC CSE Mains result 2023, declared on December 3, and interviews for personality tests conducted after the mains exam. The commission excluded one question from each series of Paper 1 General Studies 1, which comprised 100 questions with a total of 200 marks. Consequently, applicants will only be evaluated on 99 questions in Paper 1. Paper 2 for General Studies 2 consisted of 80 questions with a maximum score of 200 points. The examination featured negative marking, where candidates would lose one-third of their marks for each incorrect response.
