UP School Timings Changed in Gautam Buddh Nagar; Classes to Begin at 10 AM from January 19

Schools in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar district have reopened after the winter holiday break, but with changed school timings to safeguard students amid ongoing cold wave conditions. The district administration announced the revised schedule in an official order dated January 18, citing dense fog and extreme cold as key reasons for the adjustment.

As per the new directive, all schools will start classes at 10:00 am and end by 3:00 pm, effective from January 19. The administration has made it mandatory that no school begins classes before 10 am or extends academic activities beyond 3 pm under any circumstances.

The move aims to reduce students' exposure to cold weather during early morning hours, when fog levels are highest and temperatures are at their lowest. Officials highlighted that poor visibility on roads during morning hours poses safety risks, especially for children who rely on school transport or walk to school.

The revised timings apply uniformly to all classes and all types of schools, including government, private, and unaided institutions across the district. School authorities have been instructed to reorganize timetables, assemblies, and other activities within the shortened school day.

Meteorological reports suggest that cold wave conditions are likely to persist in western Uttar Pradesh, prompting district officials to remain cautious. The administration emphasized that the decision is temporary and will be reviewed based on weather improvements.

Parents and guardians have expressed relief over the revised timings, noting that the change allows children to avoid traveling in extreme cold and foggy conditions. Many schools have also informed parents through circulars and messaging platforms to ensure smooth coordination.

The district administration has urged schools to strictly follow the guidelines and ensure that students remain warm and safe on campus. Further updates, if required, will be issued based on weather advisories from the concerned authorities.
