UP School Reopening: Schools May Remain Closed This Month

Uttar Pradesh government is not likely to the schools. Students and parents can check the latest news regarding Schools reopening after Unlock guidelines amid COVID pandemic.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma has informed that the partial reopening of schools from September 21 is very bleak as the number of Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) cases increases in the State. According to sources, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath would be taking the final call regarding reopening of schools in this month. Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has granted permission to schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutes to reopen from September 21 for limited activities such as taking guidance from their teachers.

Dinesh Sharma said, "It is very unlikely that schools can be allowed to function partially. It is not possible to run schools, even partially, at least, for this month. Safety of the students is a big issue and it cannot be compromised."

Earlier, Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has released the Unlock 4.0 guidelines for phased re-opening. All the schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions will remain closed until September 30, 2020. It has granted permission for a partial reopening of schools. Students of Classes 9 to 12 can visit the schools on a voluntary basis to take guidance from their teachers. However, the school activities are allowed only outside the Containment Zones.

UP Board will be conducting the compartmental exams for Class 10 and Class 12 during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The Compartment exams are likely to begin on October 3, 2020.

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has also revised the UP Board Syllabus 2020-21 at upmsp.edu.in (official website) for 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th. It has reduced the syllabus by 30% for the academic year 2020-21.
