The Uttar Pradesh Government is likely to defer the Class 10th and Class 12th board exams further due to the COVID-19 upsurge across the state. The government has postponed all the board exams scheduled in the state include ICSE, CBSE, UP, Sanskrit, Madrasa and others till further notice. Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has postponed the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams 2021 on April 16. It has announced that the schedule of board exams will be released in the first week of May. Students are advised to keep visiting the official website for the latest updates.

Earlier, the UPMSP has postponed the board exam for Class 10th and 12th in the first week of April due to the panchayat election in the state. The UP Boards exams will be held for over 60 lakh candidates. A total of 29,94,312 students are likely to appear for the Class 10 board examination in 2021. A total of 26,09,501 students will appear for Class 12 Board examinations. The Board will conduct the exams in 7505 test centres in 18 zones across the state.
On April 15, the CMO of Uttar Pradesh tweeted, "In view of the COVID situation, schools from class 01 to class 12 should be suspended till May 15. No examination will be conducted during this period. The 10th and 12th examinations of the Secondary Education Council should be conducted after May 20:UP CM Mr Yogi Adityanath"
