The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has released the new guidelines for phased re-opening (Unlock 3). According to the recent Unlock 3 guidelines, schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions will remain closed till August 31 outside the Containment Zones. Online/ distance learning shall continue to be permitted. The MHA's new Unlock 3 rules will be in force until August 31, 2020. As far as possible the practice of Work From Home (WFH) should be followed.
The official notice reads, "Schools, Colleges, educational and coaching institutes will remain closed till August 31, 2020. Online/distance learning shall continue to be permitted and shall be encouraged."
Schools and educational institutions have remained close since March. The MHA had said in Unlock 1 guidelines that a decision on reopening of schools and colleges will be taken after extensive consultations.
Earlier, MHA has granted permission to open the training institutions of the Central and State government from July 15 in Unlock 2 guidelines.
Unlock 3 Guidelines: Important Points
- Yoga institutes and gymnasiums will be allowed to start functioning from August 5, 2020.
- Social/ political/ sports/ entertainment/ academic/ cultural/ religious functions and other large congregations for re-starting may be decided separetely.
- Independence day functions will be allowed with social distancing and other health protocols such as wearing of masks.
