UGC offers Indira Gandhi Scholarship to girls for PG Programme

University of Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi offers Indira Gandhi Scholarship to postgraduate girl students for the year 2015.

UGC has introduced the Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child with an aim to compensate direct costs of girl education in all levels especially for such girls who happen to be the only girl child in their family.

Any single girl child who happens to be the only child or twin daughter or fraternal daughter in the family, is eligible for the scholarship. The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission in regular, full-time 1st year Master's Degree of a non-professional course in any recognized university or a post graduate college. This scholarship is available to PG-I year students only. The upper age limit for applying for the scholarship is 30 years.

The value of the scholarship is Rs.2,000/- per month for a period of 10 months every year, for two years only, for the full duration of a PG course.
