UGC-NET JRF vs Assistant Professor: qualifying rules and normalisation
Award of JRF or Assistant Professor eligibility depends on aggregate performance in both papers. Only 6 percent of total appearing candidates qualify for Assistant Professor, then seats split by reservation policy. UGC-NET re-exam schedule for English, Commerce and Sociology
NTA will re-conduct English, Commerce and Sociology on September 9 and 10 after quality concerns were flagged. “NTA shall be re-conducting the examination for these subjects on 09 September 2026 and 10 September 2026.” Candidates from these subjects may see “Invalid Application Number/Password” until fresh scores publish.
