Why Was UGC NET June 2026 Re-Exam Conducted for 3 Subjects?

NTA decided to reconduct the UGC NET June 2026 examination for English, Commerce and Sociology following complaints regarding multiple errors in the question papers.

The agency had constituted a committee to examine the concerns raised by candidates. The committee identified several issues, including factual, typographical, spelling and translation errors. Concerns were also reported regarding incorrectly spelled names of scholars, incorrect or garbled book titles and errors in the wording of certain questions.

After reviewing the complaints, the committee concluded that the reported issues could affect the fairness and accuracy of the examination. NTA subsequently decided to conduct fresh examinations for the three affected subjects.
