The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the schedule for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) 2024 June session. Candidates can now view the timetable on the official UGC NET website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The exam will be conducted between August 21 and September 4 in a Computer Based Test (CBT) format.

Details about the city of the exam centre will be available on NTA's websites, ugcnet.nta.ac.in and nta.ac.in, ten days before the examination date. This information is crucial for candidates to make necessary travel arrangements.
The UGC NET exam is held twice annually to determine eligibility for various academic purposes, including the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as an assistant professor, and admission to PhD programmes in Indian universities and colleges.
The UGC NET June 2024 exam, originally conducted on June 18 in a pen and paper format across two shifts (9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm), was reportedly cancelled a day after it was held due to allegations of paper leakage. This incident affected over nine lakh candidates who participated in the test across 317 cities in India.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official UGC NET website to stay updated with any further announcements or changes. This ensures they do not miss any critical information regarding their examination schedules or centres. The re-conducted exam aims to provide a fair opportunity for all candidates affected by the cancellation, underscoring NTA's commitment to maintaining transparency and integrity in its examination processes.
The revised schedule offers another chance for aspiring researchers and educators to achieve their academic goals without being disadvantaged by unforeseen issues like paper leaks. By adhering to the guidelines and staying informed through official channels, candidates can better prepare for their upcoming exams and secure their desired academic positions or fellowships.
