The University Grants Commission (UGC)-NET December 2020 and June 2021 cycles have been rescheduled by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to take place in October. The announcement is available on the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
Earlier, the UGC-NET 2021 exam was set to take place from October 6 to 11. However, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has been informed that the October 10 test date conflicts with other significant examinations that are also scheduled for that day.
"With a view to ensure larger participation of candidates and to remove the hardship caused to them, it has been decided to reschedule some of the dates of the UGC-NET December 2020 and June 2021 cycles," the NTA notified.

UGC NET Exam 2021
On behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Agency holds the National Eligibility Test (NET), which determines whether Indian citizens are eligible for Assistant Professorships, Junior Research Fellowships, or both in Indian universities and colleges.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, NTA has earlier postponed the UGC National Eligibility Test for the December 2020 cycle (May 2021), resulting delay in June 2021 UGC NET. As a result, in order to keep the examination cycles consistent, the Commission has combined the UGC NET December 2020 and June 2021 exams.
