Candidates must bring the following items to the exam hall:

  • A printout of the hall ticket (admit card)

Changes in Exam Schedule

This year marks a significant change in the exam schedule. The NTA will administer the UGC NET 2024 exam for all 83 subjects on a single day, diverging from the previous practice of holding exams over several days. Since December 2018, the NTA has been conducting the UGC NET in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Eligibility and Awards

The UGC NET is held twice a year, in June and December. The award of the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Assistant Professorship depends on the candidate's performance in both Paper-I and Paper-II of the UGC NET.

Candidates who qualify only for the Assistant Professorship are not eligible for the JRF. Those qualifying for Assistant Professorship must adhere to the rules and regulations set by the concerned universities, colleges, or state governments for recruitment.
