Amid the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the country, the UGC NET 2021 May Examinations for December 2020 cycle has been postponed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The new dates will be announced at least 15 days before the commencement of the examination. The announcement for UGC NET 2021 which was scheduled to be held from 02 May 2021 to 17 May 2021 has been made by the Ministry of Education in view of the present Covid situation.

"Looking at the present situation of COVID-19 pandemic and taking into account safety and well-being of candidates and examination functionaries, it has been decided to postpone the UGC NET 2020 cycle (May 2021) examination," stated the official notification by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The Ministry of Education took to Twitter to announce the UGC NET 2021 postponement.
The new dates will be announced by the NTA after reviewing the Covid-19 situation in the country.
UGC NET is conducted twice a year - in June and in December and this is the UGC NET December 2020 cycle which could not be held on time.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) holds the National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine the eligibility for Professor or Junior Research Fellowship. The UGC NET is a Computer-based exam.
However, many central and state education boards have postponed their board exams as well as entrance exams including NEET PG 2021 and JEE Main April Session 2021 Exams.
