TNPSC Recruitment: Apply For Librarian Posts

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released a recruitment notification for the Librarian posts. Interested candidates should apply before December 20, 2017.

TNPSC vacancy details:

Name of the posts:

• College Librarian: 30 Posts
• District Library Officer (DLO): 9 Posts
• Assistant Librarian & Information Officer: 03 Posts

TNPSC Educational requirement:

1. College Librarian post for Government Arts & Science Colleges in Tamil Nadu Collegiate Education Service:

• Candidates applying for this post must have completed Post Graduate Degree in Library and Information Service/ Documentation Service and good academic record with UGC NET/ SET/ SLET certification or Ph.D.

Pay scale:

• Candidates applying for this profile must hold a Post Graduate Degree in any subject and Post Graduate Degree in Library and Information Science/ Documentation Science/ Information Science.

Pay scale:

• The selected candidates will get a monthly salary of Rs 9,300 Grade pay 4,700 plus allowances in Pay Band-II category ( Basic pay Rs 36,700 plus allowances in Pay Matrix Level 17)

Age limit for TNPSC recruitment:

• Minimum age limit is 18 years (should have completed for all)
• Cut off date for age is July 1, 2017

For College Librarian & DLO posts:

• Maximum age limit is 35 years.
• No maximum age limit for BC/ BCM/DNC/SC/SCA/ ST candidates and Destitute widow of all communities include UR.

For Assistant Librarian of ACL post:

• Maximum age limit is 30 years.
• No maximum age limit for BC/ BCM/MBC/DNC/ SC/ SCA/ ST candidates and Destitute widow of all communities include UR
• PwD: Person with Disabilities will get additional 10 years of relaxation.

TNPSC application fee:

• One time registration fee Rs 150 (valid for 5 years). Last date for fee December 22, 2017

TNPSC Exam date:

• The examination will be conducted in all major cities in Tamil Nadu. The examination centres are Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore
• February 24, 2018, Paper I library Science Main (10 -1 pm)
• February 24, 2018 Paper II General Studies (2.30 -4.30 pm)
