The Rotary Club of Bombay Powai has launched ‘Powai Fest'. This promises an addition to the art and cultural festivals' list in Mumbai, this month onwards. The event has a number of activities that would appeal to people across all ages - from inter-school to the corporate level.
Rotary Club of Bombay Powai (RCBP) and the Hiranandani Group of Powai have come together to organise the ‘Powai Fest'. The first version of the ‘Powai Fest' is being devoted to the pillar of Powai, Dr.L.H Hiranandani.
"I wish the Powai Fest 2014 all the very best. Am glad many community leaders in Powai are organizing this festival, may their united efforts bring a bonding for Powai." said Niranjan Hiranandani, chief of the Hiranandani Group.
"The ‘Powai Fest' 2014 wishes to build on the community bonding offering a wider variety of sports and cultural events, food, drinks and entertainment. It will host various games and competitions. The event will also feature live musical performances," said Rotarian R.Vanamali a Past President of RCBP, and a current Asst. Governor of the Rotary Dist. 3140, "The Rotary Club of Bombay Powai was chartered on March 11, 1991. It is one of the most active Clubs in North-eastern part of Mumbai and devoted to service and fellowship. Rotary is a volunteer organization with more than 35,000 Clubs spread across more than 200 countries. Rotary International is the worldwide association of Rotary Clubs united under a motto of service above self. We welcome each of you to join the Powai fest 2014, come participate and join the festivities."
The last few years have seen significant increase in the number of membership of the Rotary Club of Bombay Powai. It offers a n encouraging sociability based on an enthralling verity of interests in arts, business, science and the professional proficiency of its members.
Both the organisers and the local community of Powai are equally excited about the festival.
"The ‘Powai Fest' is going to be an annual celebration of not only the Powai culture featuring local, regional and national music, traditional cuisine; cultural exhibits and workshops but also have a wide variety of quality bonding events and entertainment bringing our community closer," said Rotarian K.Jaishankar from RCBP, the Chairman of this mega community event, while speaking about the ‘Powai Fest' and the different activities organised for the same.
From sports competitions to talent challenges, from cyclothon to football, from cheerleaders to parades, from nature walks to canine wonders, Powai Fest 2014 shall have it all.
"We are happy to take the ‘Powai Fest 2014′ forward. We urge you to join the festivities. We are conducting the competitive sports events like Football, TT, Squash and badminton in partnership with Square Off a Sports Management, Consulting and Training organization and a mega Cyclothon together with NGO Young Environmentalists Programme trust which works towards conservation and environment.
