Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao has announced that all schools and colleges in Telangana would reopen from February 1, 2021, onwards. The Government has decided to reopen the schools and colleges in Telangana for classes 9 and above. It has taken the decision in a high-level meeting with the Ministers and District Collectors after analysing the pandemic situation in the state. The academic classes for Intermediate and Degree are likely to begin on the same day, i.e., February 1. CM KCR has also directed the officials and the Department of Education to make necessary arrangements for reopening of institutions and conducting classes. Telangana CMO tweeted, "Chief Minister Shri K. Chandrasekhar Rao said, Public and private educational institutions can hold classes from the 9th grade from February 1. He said that classes for Class 10, Intermediate, Degree and other vocational courses should be conducted."

It also tweeted, "Educational institutions are being closed for many days so all the materials in it need to be cleaned. CM advised to check the stored rice, pulses, other food grains and cooking utensils and make it ready."

"In total by the 25th of this month the educational institutions should be prepared accordingly to conduct the classes. The Chief Minister directed the ministers to visit hostels like SC, ST, BC etc. and make them suitable for student accommodation" CMO tweeted.

Earlier, several state governments that include Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Bihar have reopened their schools and colleges for students after issuing the SOPs guidelines to ensure students and teachers visiting the educational institutions are safe.
