Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao has chaired a high-level cabinet meeting and decided to lift the ongoing lockdown considering the COVID-19 cases in the state. The Government has announced that all schools and colleges in Telangana would reopen from July 1, onwards. It has directed the Department of Education to start all physical activities from July. Telangana CMO tweeted, "The Cabinet has decided to lift the lockdown from tomorrow (June 20). The Cabinet also directed the Department of Education to start all types of educational institutions from July 1 with full readiness."

The Government has clearly described the COVID-19 safety protocols that should be followed by the educational institutions while reopening the schools and colleges in the state. Students and teachers are advised to wear a mask, sanitize their hands frequently and follow the social distancing. The Department of Education has sent guidelines or instructions to the educational institutions to reopen safely.
