Telangana government to set up separate intermediate board

Telangana state government has established a separate State Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) on December 04, 2014. Government said that they would conduct the intermediate examinations on its own.

Governor ESL Narasimhan is also helping in forming the separate intermediate boards for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

BIE will have Education Minister as Chairman and Secretary of Higher Education will be its vice-chairman. The board will be located in Hyderabad. The commissioner of Technical Education, Shailaja Ramaiyer, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Board, the M Veerabhadraiah as legal consultant and mukthadhar as Controller of Examination.

The Board will also have nominated members comprising joint secretary of finance and vice-chancellors of Osmania University, Kakatiya University, JNTU-Hyderabad, Telangana University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Palamuru University and Satavahana University.

Telangana Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy said that the state is ready to conduct its own intermediate examinations. They have required infrastructure, faculty and staff to hold the exam.

The board is all set to conduct 1st and 2nd year intermediate examination from March 09 to 27, 2015.
