The step is focused on the entire life cycle of the teacher, from the point they are student teachers till their retirement.

The initiative will help the teachers to direct themselves, as they join the Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs)

Why is DIKSHA important?

One might wonder why we need such a step. Well the HRD ministry explains the need of such an initiative in a small video which rightly states that the future of the country lies in the hands of our very own teachers.

Also how the whole country is on its way to be digitally transformed, but in this huge change, teachers are left behind.

They need to be digitally equipped with the new and advancing technology. These are some of the beneficial uses of DIKSHA for the teachers:

  • It will make sure that they can hone their skills anywhere and any time.
  • They will be provided with access assessment resources, learn and train using it.
  • In TEIs, their work and accomplishments will be recorded from the very start till the point their retire.
  • This infrastructure can be customized according to their own ides.
  • Content can be shared between multiple people and the infrastructure is multi channel, which means it can accessed on various formats like PCs, mobile phones, tablets etc.
