Google Celebrate Teachers Day With Doodle

Teachers' Day is celebrated across the country on September 5th to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was an exemplary teacher besides the country's first Vice President and its second President.

He said, "Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my privilege if 5 September is observed as Teachers' Day."

Hence, his birthday has been commemorated as Teachers' Day in India.

Dr Radhakrishnan is known for his down-to-earth demeanour. He was awarded India's highest civilian honour, Bharat Ratna, in 1954. A total of 27 times he was nominated for the Nobel Prize that includes 11 times for the Nobel Peace Prize.
