A teacher of primary class, in Assam's Sonitpur district, demonstrated how the freedom fighters were hung to the class, by tying a noose around a child's neck. This has prompted an inquiry to be ordered by the district administration.

"It is a strange case and we are taking some drastic action tomorrow," said Lalit Gogoi, Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur. He said that officer of he district elementary education was asked to investigate and produce a report by Monday, Gogoi informed.

The local reports claim that the teacher, Dhiren Kakati, tied the noose around the class IV student's neck. The knot was almost pulled, when some of the children's screams of horror in fright had raised an alarm. Some even ran out.

Drunk teacher shows how to hang “practically”!

This incident has occurred at Kongkalbhangi Prathamik Vidyalaya, in Sonitpur district town, about 30 kms west of Tezpur. The class IV students were being taught about "Swadhin Bharat", a lesson in their curriculum when the teacher decided to demonstrate how the freedom fighters were hung by the British, "practically."

Kakati confirmed that he has indeed demonstrated how the freedom fighters were hung to the class "practically" when the parents went to the school to find out about the incident. A couple of other teachers from the school protested against their co-worker's deed, but discovered that Kakati was apparently drunk.
