Tamil Nadu Government has decided to promote all the students of Classes 1 to 8 to the next grade without exams. The Government has taken this decision after the request made by the parents amid the second wave of the COVID-19 cases in the state. This will bring relief to students, teachers and parents. The Department will soon release the guidelines regarding the marking and evaluation criteria.
Tamil Nadu Class 12 Board Exams 2021 Postponed, Practical Exams As Scheduled
The government has closed all the educational institutions in the state since March 2020 due to the Novel Coronavirus followed by the lockdown. It has reduced the syllabus for the academic year 2020-2021. The online classes are being conducted with the revised academic syllabus. Considering the pandemic, the government has decided to promote the students without any exams.
Earlier, the TN government has cancelled the Class 10 board exams and decided to promote the students based on the internal assessment. It has also deferred the Class 12 board exams in view of the COVID-19 surge across the state after a high-level meeting. It has also announced that there would be no permission for conducting the summer camps. The universities and colleges will be encouraged to conduct the classes and exams online.
