Tamil Nadu Semester Exams 2020 Cancelled: CM Palaniswamy
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy has announced that Tamil Nadu University or Colleges semester exams 2020. Check details.
The Government of Tamil Nadu has decided to cancel all the University semester exams of various colleges in the state. The decision was taken by Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Edappadi K Palaniswamy after considering the recommendations of a high-level committee formed by the Government. He announced that various college exams including the polytechnic college's exams were cancelled due to the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) pandemic. It is also decided to award marks for students under the guidance of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy tweeted, "In the interest of students in higher education due to Coronavirus infection, I have ordered the exemption of students from Arts and Science, Engineering and various technical degree courses from the following semester examinations. #semesterexams"
- Undergraduate students of the first and second-year in the arts, sciences and engineering were cancelled.
- The first and second-year students are exempted from the examination only for this session and promoted to the next academic year.
Earlier, UGC has asked Universities to compulsorily conduct the final year semester exams by September 2020. UGC has issued new guidelines and directed Universities to conduct the final semester exams because the academic evaluation is very important for students that gives confidence and satisfaction.
