State of the Art Genomics Laboratory for Indus International School

Bangalore, October 9, 2014: Indus International School has set up a state of the art Genomics Laboratory at it's Bangalore campus.

It is a unique idea in the entire K-12 education system as it is an endeavour to trigger the spirit of enquiry and research skills from a young age. The laboratory provides hands on experience in techniques like Genome extraction, DNA fingerprinting, Cloning, Tissue and Cell Culture.

Mrs. Sarojini Rao, Principal Indus International School Bangalore says "We are the first school in India to set up a genomics lab and also offer nanotechnology. We encourage development of leadership competencies such as innovation and creativity in our young students."

The lab is in collaboration with Merck- Millipore bioscience. The students are awarded a certificate at the end of the program from the Merck Millipore (GeNei TM) which is widely recognised in major undergraduate programs across the world.
