The country is going through a national emergency due to the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus pandemic and hence is currently observing the lockdown till May 3, 2020. Most of the entrance exams along with board exams deferred due to COVID. There is no exception for the recruitment exams conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
SSC held a special meeting on April 15 to review the situation arising out of the Coronavirus pandemic. The Commission has decided to postpone the exam dates of Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level (CHSL) Examination (Tier-I) 2019, Junior Engineer (Paper-I) Examination 2019, Stenographer Grade 'C' & 'D' Examination 2019 and Skill Test for Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination, 2018. The fresh dates will be released after the second phase of lockdown, i.e., May 3, 2020. Aspirants are advised to visit the official website of SSC to check the rescheduled dates of these examinations.

The SSC press notice reads, "In view of the prevailing lockdown restrictions, including social distancing norms, it was decided that dates for all examinations, where candidates are required to travel from all parts of the country, will be reviewed from time to time."
It also reads, "The rescheduled dates of these examinations will be notified on the websites of the Commission and Regional/ Sub-Regional Offices of the Commission. Annual Calendar of Examinations notified by the Commission will also be reviewed in respect of the schedules of other examinations."
SSC Contribution To PM CARES Fund
In the meeting, SSC also decided to contribute one day's salary of all Officers and Staff Members to the PM's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation Fund (PM CARES Fund).
