The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination (SSC MTS 2024) on June 27. Candidates interested in applying can download the notification from the official website at ssc.gov.in.

The recruitment exam aims to fill a total of 8,326 vacancies. The last date to apply for the examination is July 31, 2024, and an application fee of ₹100 must be paid online by August 1, 2024. Additionally, candidates can make corrections to their application forms from August 16 to August 17, 2024.
While the exact date for the SSC MTS tier 1 exam will be announced soon, it is tentatively scheduled for October or November 2024. Of the total 8,326 vacancies, 4,887 are for Multi-Tasking Staff, while 3,439 are for Havaldar posts in CBIC and CBN.
Eligibility
- Age Limit: Candidates should be between 18 and 25 years old for MTS and Havaldar in CBN (Department of Revenue). For Havaldar in CBIC (Department of Revenue) and certain MTS posts, the age limit is 18-27 years. Upper age limit relaxation applies to reserved category candidates.
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Class 10 or Matriculation examination or its equivalent from a recognized board on or before the cut-off date.
Steps to Apply for SSC MTS/ Havaldar Posts 2024
- Visit the official website ssc.nic.in.
- On the homepage, go to the Apply tab.
- Register and proceed with the application process.
- Fill out the form, pay the fee, and submit the form.
- Take a printout for future reference.
Application Fee
- Unreserved category candidates: ₹100.
- Women candidates, SC/ ST/ PwBD, and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation: Exempted from payment of the fee.
Selection Procedure
The selection process will consist of a Computer-Based Examination (CBE) and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) for the post of Havaldar. The CBE will be conducted in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages - Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The CBE will have two sessions, and attempting both sessions is mandatory. Failing to attempt any session will result in disqualification of the candidate.
